Residency In Canada

If you were to complete a residency in Canada, and would like to practice in the US do you have to undergo residency in the US??

not sure...but good luck trying to land a residency in canada if you're an img.

There is a guy from SGU who completed residency and fellowship in the US then came back to practice in Quebec.

Same goes for the US as long as you qualify under their required specialty qualifications.

You can check by specialty here: http://rcpsc.medical.org/information/index.php

The length of residency is usually listed at the end of the "Objective of training..." section & (the end of the specific objectives subsection.)

For example, internal medicine is 4 years instead of 3 (like in the US), so if you want to be IM in Canada, you must have 4 years of training.
