Awesome Work of Fiction to be Presented on TV

Anybody going to watch the awesome work of fiction on TV tonight? It's called the "State of the Union Address". Staring one of the best perpertrators of fiction from our time.

Enjoy. But be sure you don't take anything said on there as truth.

Ya, it must be rough to be that bitter for 8 years...

The most entertaining part of the evening is watching the 'prebuttal' and I cross my fingers that KKK Robert Byrd gets up and sloshes around in his usual bloviating manner.

You quote John Adams in your signature, now that is funny

You know, any time there is a politician delievering a speech, there is a good chance they are telling people what they want to hear. Like the Dems are honest? Puh-lease. They are all cut from the same cloth. A politician is a politician no matter what side of the aisle they sit on. If they really had my best interest at heart, they would be working hard to make government SMALLER. They would vote themselves paycuts, or at least vote to keep their salaries status quo for once. BTW, what company in the provate sector allows their employees to vote on whether they get a payraise? Shouldn't the people do that?? They would make sure that medicare payments aren't cut. They wouldn't pass this absolutely absurd medicare drug plan without some way to pay for it. No, these people don't have my best interests at heart. G

What I can't stand in these speeches is how often everyone stands in ovation; it used to be that a standing ovation was a special, heartfelt acclaim for something especially meritorious. Now it's just an expected reaction, cheapened and made meaningless by excessive repetition. As a musician, I have also increasingly seen this phenomenon at classical and contemporary concerts. I find it very upsetting. What will be left to us to signify intense appreciation?
