I noticed that too. I think it's part of how our culture has changed to the point of not giving out the scores at Little League games (that drove my son NUTS), giving everyone an award for every imaginable accomplishment, bla bla bla...
People are so sheltered from competitiveness and criticism that we no longer know how to dish it out OR take it.
