He used to be a Republican but switched parties. I had an excellent talk with my friend last night. He always has 'dirt' that he can't talk about, but reveals enough to make you go Hmmm. Drives me nuts because he knows I am a sucker for the intrigue. But about James Webb--yes, there is even a web site--www.draftjameswebb.com--the inside poop is that he's considered a more viable option for the Democratic candidate for President rather than Hillary. I'm a Republican, but if he ran, I'd vote for him. He's a straight-talker in the vein of John McCain, but far more intelligent and stable.

I don't see the Democratic Party nominating a man with his convictions. Too conservative for them to stomach. BUT - if a miracle happens and he does get the nomination, I might just go and - *GASP* - campaign for a Dem... I dunno, I got to go do some soul-searching now....
