before the Titanic there truly was an unsinkable ship, I forget it's name, but it was completely double hulled and was put to the test and survived. But it was too cumbersome and expensive to maintain.

The prequal Gods and Generals sucked badly, and I think that's because they tried to write their own script in addition to the book
