Thread: THEIR (US med graduates) perception of US (Foreign med graduates)

Well, what do they think of us. I say 'us', because I'm planning on being a foreign med graduate (fingers crossed).

it depends. its like asking what do the black folks on this forum think of the white folks, or the straight folks think of the gay folks. Basically most people will know someone who is an img which will temper things. ultiamtely they dont care so long as you do a good job. a few will make themselves feel better by putting imgs down. some will know things are complex but still have a visceral bias. its life.

I disagree.

Even though IMGs get very few choice residencies, we are the favorite scapegoats for lower tier US med students who fail to match.

Also, why would the AMA lobby to change the "home return" period for J-1 visas from two years to five, as they are currently doing?

For USIMGs, fortunately, that trick doesn't work.
