    Being Single in Medical School

By single I mean unattached. No boyfriend/girlfriend, no spouse.

Is it easy to remain single while on the islands? Do a lot of people meet their future spouse while in school? Is dating very rampant on the islands? Is it like a soap opera where one person will have dated five different people in the same semester, with plenty of gossip inbetween?

I've heard stories about one particular school. I remember wondering if it was a matrimonial camp or a medical school. Not because of the professors, but because of the ways the students were behaving while there. I know its not a bad thing to talk to people of the opposite sex, but I can imagine it can get a bit tricky with having to balance everything, especially with the fact that you may end up in different places after school.

I have nothing to worry about in this regard as I am sure guys will run 500 miles away from me, but I just wanted to get myself acclimated with the social environment. hehe.

Not to worry - they are not all represented by the above conversation. I have met some really nice guys and gals here. Many single, some married. Just keep your mind set on your goals and be the best person you can be, and the rest will fall into place.

Staying single in med school depends on the individual, but let me put it this way: If you have to ask the question 'Is it possible to stay single in med school?', then in your case, the answer is 'no'.

I'm just keepin' it real yo. Know whatem sayin? Know whatem sayin? Know whatem sayin? Know whatem sayin? Know whatem sayin? Know whatem sayin? Know whatem sayin? Know whatem sayin?

basically its like every other time in life. it depends all on you and how you behave and who you surround yourself with. there are those who have the social/dating skills as mcG said of the average 15 year old and those who are big boys and girls. its all a matter of you.

I disagree . Having being around many doctors -- my 2 older brothers , 2 uncles and 3 cousins are docs and when we get together along with some of their doc friends , u would never be able to tell that they are doctors . I mean the " crazy " stuff that comes out of their mouths and the childish stuff they get into when we get together for barbeques , stripper parties , picnics , strip clubs , etc is really hilarious ------- u would never think they are physicians from their behavior . At work however , they are professional and serve their patients well with dignity , professionalism and caring service . Many of themhave awards in their homes for outstanding service . So please dont judge people without first seeing them as a " whole " . People have a right to be " silly " if they want to as long as they are not on the job ( and hey this is a fun and fantasy relaxing lounge afterall . Anyway , as a side note , I myself after becoming an M.D intend to be an amateur " safe " pornstar on the side and yes stepheew, the demos will be free and all sales proceeds from the full videos which will sell for $10 a piece will go toward programs for hiv patients .
