Deal Leads to Creation of CAYMAN ISLANDS SEA SCHOOL

New York, New York March 10,2004 - America's favorite sea sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants, will be spending some time in the Cayman Islands, likely just off Grand Cayman's renowned Seven Mile Beach ...

The Cayman Islands, a top family vacation destination and home to some of the world's most abundant sea life, has partnered with Nickelodeon, the number-one kids entertainment brand, to create the first ever Cayman Islands Sea School with SpongeBob. The partnership was announced today by Pilar Bush, Deputy Director of Tourism, Cayman Islands. The Cayman Island's Department of Environment (DOE) will also be actively involved in developing the program.

Cayman Islands Sea School is one ingredient of a vast and innovative partnership to launch one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2004 'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie,' coming to theatres November 19. As part of the agreement, the Cayman partnership will be seen across Nickelodeon's global multimedia platforms, including on-air, online and magazines.

Summer School's never been this fun!

Cayman Islands Sea School is a free program designed to give children who are going to be in the Cayman Islands this summer the opportunity to have fun while learning about our marine environment.-in perhaps the world's most ideal natural classroom. Two afternoons a week, children and their families can join the DOE for Cayman Islands Sea School. The fun interactive sessions will include a SpongeBob episode, a short talk on the importance of preserving the marine environment, hands-on activities - both indoor and outdoor, and customized activity books and crafts. The marine mini-camp is available to residents and vacationers alike, and gives families a chance to swim, splash and learn about the sea together. At the conclusion of the program each child will receive a diploma presented by SpongeBob.

Cayman Islands Sea School is a major component of the destination's 2004 summer promotion program - from June 1 to September 6. During 'Cayman Summer Splash' kids stay free, eat free, and enjoy free activities, including Cayman Islands Sea School, water sports, and select attractions in the Cayman Islands.

"It is perfect for Nickelodeon, and such a widely popular character like SpongeBob, to partner with a top vacation destination like the Cayman Islands," said Laura Nowatka, Vice President, Promotions Marketing, Nickelodeon. "SpongeBob and his underwater themes play very nicely into the Cayman Island's desire to educate kids on its precious marine environment" she said.

The most important thing is that people enjoy visiting the Cayman Islands but if we can also share the importance of preserving the marine environment through SpongeBob we have not only achieved our business goals, we have made our world a little better."

The Cayman Islands have joined with other sponsors such as Kellogg's, Burger King, and Mitsubishi Additionally, the Cayman Islands will be featured on the back panel of more than 13 million Kellogg's cereal boxes in 2004 for a national sweepstakes. The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Sweepstakes will award one lucky kid and his/ her family a trip to Grand Cayman on Cayman Airways with five of their friends and their families!

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is produced and written by TV series creator Stephen Hillenburg. Hillenburg has a degree in marine biology and created the show based on his appreciation of marine life. Working as a marine science educator, Hillenburg had the chance to see how captivated kids are with undersea life.

Sea School with SpongeBob is a free program between the ages of 5 and 11. Any students who have kids in those ages could apply that.
