2) The serious thread has been asked and answered so many times that those that have been around a while don't want to take the time out of their lives to answer something for someone that was too lazy to do a search.

3) The serious thread has no answer, i.e. what school is best? There is no one best school for everyone.

4) We on the forum don't know the answer, i.e. the perennial "What are my chances?" thread, or "is the xyz class full?" thread... None of us sit on the admissions board so all we can do is point you to the stastical distributions on the website, but we really can't answer your question with any accuracy, hence few replies.

We try, but we do not know all. Thats why some threads go unanswered or are referred to call Bayshore/other official office/etc for the latest/most accurate information.

Also one man's trash is another's treasure. A thread you consider "stupid" may be considered meaningful to someone else, and vice versa. You are free to pick and choose what you read.

You may be right, but the fact is, the majority of you people who post useless topics are creating a royal waste of time for those of us who might come here for something substantive. Some of us don't have hours to spend reading through numerous threads about somebody biting a stupid pillow, etc. I thought that this forum was to be used for meaningful things like what types of plugs, food, climate, etc. to expect. Instead, since I started checking it, I find I spend most of my time sifting through posts like the thread entitled "Who?" If a question can be answered in one or two posts, then leave it alone; it'll save people like me a lot of time and it will actually fulfill the intent of this forum, informing prospective and current medical students.

Case and point, look at the last five posts in this thread

Most of the posts on this thread, including all of the off-topic ones, belong to AUC students, whose propensity to get off topic is legendary, hence the original AUC Banter thread.

The purpose of the thread entitled Who? was for off-topic and other useless posts, so I have no idea why you are looking there for substantive information. When I scan the rest of the threads on the front page, each serious question has gotten a thoughtful/researched answer from the volunteers that contribute to this forum.

My advice to you: if you are not interested in useless banter, then don't read the Who? thread, or anything in the Relaxing Lounge.

Simple as that.

All well and good, but what's to make those people who do regularly answer questions come back without a little bit of fun? I don't know how it is on the SGU thread, but on the AUC thread most questions are answered by a small group of regulars, and questions are usually always answered before someone throws muck at another.

Unless more people step up to the bat to pass down their pearls of wisdom, or people are actually paid to sit here and professionally answer their questions.. good luck with that.

Nice to know we're so well known! Please never go off topic, it doesn't go well with the "Harvard of the Caribbean".

You'd probably shouldn't ever goto the AUC forum... It might cause you to go into a heart attack.

We go off-topic occasionally, hence the longest useless thread :-)
