The problem with distance learning is that it may not allow you to get a license.
Off-shore schools are not the place to conduct an experiment. What we need to see before distance learning can become a viable method of medical education is some very specific wording in states licensing requirements regarding this method. Do I think people can get a reasonable education through a good DL program? I do. Do I think that people should go that route? Heck no.

As for "cool moderation", that is an easy thing to say, but very difficult to enforce. There are very specific things we moderate. Language and insults. Can we moderate rumors? Not effectively. Who determines what is real and what isn't? What constitutes the classification of someone with an agenda and someone who got screwed hard by a school, and now is trying to warn others about making the same mistake he/she made? Who makes these decisions? You wanna try? Some people who I think may be nuts, are respected by others.

To have a truly open forum, you can't do that. You have to use YOUR judgement. Who to ignore, who to listen to. I think generally if you have a lot of people with the same opinion about something you should at least consider that what they say has some substance. People with agendas are often lone posters with dissenting opinions.

the more information you get, the more you become educated on it, the more you can make a good decision and if you screw yourself its your fault. People dont want to work hard and its a shame.....it cheapens everything
