Poll: Physicians, nurses among most "prestigious" professions
In a new Harris Interactive poll on public perceptions of which jobs are the most prestigious, medical professionals rank in the top, with 52% of those surveyed saying physicians have a prestigious job, and nurses garnering 44%. Scientists also were at the top, with 52%, while lower-ranking jobs included law (17%), and stockbrokers and accountants (10%). As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

Good call Yoda, I can only immagine being that I'm a first semester...but sounds pretty crazy!

Overall, I think choosing medicine for the prestige is a lousy reason, even if the profession is prestigious. I can say that if I did it for that reason, I'd never make it. Take care everyone!
