Since we talk often about stigmas and such against Foreign (specifically Caribbean) trained Doctors, I was wondering whether you guys can post your own anecdotes about people's reaction to foreign medical schools in your local area and personal experience?

For me coming from Southern California, I have actually not met one doctor, student or whomever that reacted to it negatively. Most of my peers in college have given serious consideration to Caribbean medical schools during their years, and most constantly weighed the decision between DOs vs. Caribbean. And every premed has at least one or two friends in a Caribbean school or graduated from one.

As for doctors, most that I met in the hospital were enthusiastic about them. They say that their Caribbean trained counterparts are just as good and the nurses and staff say they are far less arrogant and abrasive than USMGs. However, some of the older doctors say they don't know much about them.
