Doesn't that sound just like someone trying to cover his butt. Azskeptic, I'm talking about recent developments. Not something that happened in 1999 or in 2001. The information presented on this Quackwatch person is from this year or last year. Sure he's going to try in expose those who he himself is trying to ruin. If he didn't, he would have to admit defeat.

You keep mentioning that Dr. Barrett hangs out with a respected crowd with respected research. That's like saying, "I'm not prejuice, I have 3 friends who are black". These respected crowd with respected research have nothing to do with the motives behind Dr. Barrett's thinking. Come on Azskeptic, I know you have more intelligence than this. Yet, I see you stand by your man, I'll stand by what I have read on this Dr. Barrett.

Last time I checked, 2001 was considered fairly recent.

why I am valuemd explained in a phrase

This is my first post on this website, therefore I would presuppose an introduction is in order. I will be honest enough to say, I am not a doctor. My graduate persuits and studies are in the realm of history, philosphy and religion.

My interest in medicine is a direct result of a 51 year duel with a condition known as lymphedema and a website, recognized by a growing number in the medical community. I have also had to deal with mutliple lymphomas and leukopenia. Enough of that.

My problem with those such as Mr. Barrett and even AZ Skeptic is... what are your particular credtionals to be making an judgment. To be a true skeptic requires much education and study.... it is not a task for the uneducated or the simple of mind.

AZ Skeptic - a prime example is that Mr Barrett decries "Lymphology" as another great hoax and scam. Lymphology for the uninitiated, is the study of the lymphatics, lymphatic disorders and more particularly lymphedema. There are many lymphology associations throughout the world that are filled with members of incredible medical repute. These are oncologists, vascular surgeons, immunologists, infectious disease doctors with unparalleled credentials.

Yet, Mr. Barrett dismisses them as quacks. What are Mr. Barrett's credentials.... what are your credentials AZ Skeptic? Anyone can set themselves up as an expert... anyone can criticize, degrade and question.
But remember, those who question.... must also be held as accountable as those who they themselves question. It is good that Mr. Barrett is being sued... perhaps we can find out his true motive, credentials, education and motivation.

Personally, I resent his assertion that lymphology is quackery... especially when this growing discipline of medicine is beginning to give hope to millions who suffer from lymphedema. Et tu Brustus??

The truth ultimately speaks for itself. 8)

He isn't working towards a correspondence course degree nearly 40 years later, would you expect October? By the way, he is friends with Dr. John Bear, the world's expert on diploma mills who wrote an article that is on www.quackwatch.com
