i'm canadian, and i love this country. but when it comes down to the severe doctor shortage we have, and the treatment of img's (especially canadian citizens who studied abroad), i get sick to my stomach. the entire system just doesn't make any sense to me. hopefully in time, this will change, but i'm not holding my breath. i thank god there is the u.s. so that i can accomplish my dream of practicing medicine.

Read canadianstudent888's response above. Perhaps, you can educate yourself about the problems inherent in the Canadian healthcare (and immigration) systems and then draw your own conclusions. BTW, I notice that you are aiming at going to Australia instead of Canada. Easy to defend Canadian policy from a distance, isn't it? (BTW, for your elucidation, the U.S. government via medicaid and medicare directly and indirectly pays for the salaries and thereby training of the IMGs.)
