what is that supposed to mean

jpryor id like to first point out that you do not even attend st.james. therefore what makes you think you can discredit those of us that do.
i dont know about you, but to me it appears that logically a person whom has attended a school for 9 months such as angry med student would have a far greater understanding of the school then your self. especially since you have said that you have never set foot on the island of bonaire.
i checked the st james forum and you have been posting about how great the school is before i even began attending it. which was a long time ago, id like you to seriously come check it out for yourself, because your posts are very misleading to those of whom do not attend the school.
ill asure you that the only students who rave about this school are those who know for sure that they would never succeed in a real medical school.
you ask angry med student what the purpose of fudging the grades are, well there are numerous reasons one such that the teachers are just that currupt .favouritism runs rampant in this school, another reason is some teachers are just here to get their paychecks and leave. for example in med 3 we were given a take home exam and the teacher basically said its your problem if you fail USMLE.. TAKE HOME EXAM! im sorry i wasnt even given take home exams in grade school. I aswell have heard numerous teachers assure their students that they will not fail them.. i dont know about you but through out my education i have only heard students who are slakers being threatened to be failed rather then be applauded for their stupidity
another thing id like to point out is students of st james do not write their step 1s till after a period of clinical rotations. st james only needs students to fill spots for a little while and then after the students go on to write their step 1s and fail. by this time other students are already securing the spots that the previous students held. this is why they pass students

on a further note id like those retards who think i am the same person poseing under different accounts not to messege me because you must be lacking brain cells to really believe someone would take the time to open up different accounts..maybe some people do..but those are the people who have no lives. plus if i am you just wait and see if the forum red flags my accounts

Before you start biting like a rabid animal, why don't you calm down and read more posts. Nobody has attempted to discredit anybody, but we have stated that we are not rushing to accept the people voicing all of these complaints at face value, yet...and the operative word is yet.

Let me lay it out plainly. This site has existed for quite some time and has been readily accessed by potential students and, now we hear, by all of you current students. Yet not one of the current students bothered stepping up to make any statement, positive or negative, until a couple of days ago. Of course we hold you all suspect and we question the message. If you think that is unreasonable, then you explain the silence of the "current students" to date and the sudden appearance of three or four of you.

The number of views these topics have received indicate the level of interest and the concern each potential student has about making the right choices in schools. The complaints raised now demand elaboration. There is a jury waiting to see if these are malcontents out to besmirch the school or some other nefarious type up to no good, as usual. Or, are these the valid complaints of actual students? We each are waiting and withholding judgement.

What are we to believe, that there are no MD instructors or that they're all at the bars during class time?

The only jury hanging around here will be the ones that are to determine if the school has been subjecting it's students to false information given in the United States, on US soil..

Jury?!? Sounds Interesting really. Until today I had only scant interst in this school, but now it is getting more and more obvious something is up here..

I'm angry NOT angrymedstudent and I am not surprised that someone else would choose a similar screen name as me because St. James makes everyone there so mad! I just posted what I did because I want to warn prospective students about the real st. james. If you think all this stuff about the school we are both saying is Bull then please go for yourself to the island and make an informed choice. I was there. I can describe it all to you as can angrymedstudent. I encourage you to do this because you will see for yourself the lies and deceit that goes on by Dr. **** and the management of the school. God, just give them a call and see what a friendly daughter he has! She works in the office and is rude, unhelpful, snobby you know what!

And for ALL of your information. The brightest students transferred to Xavier NOT the "idiots" as someone said.

I don't know what someone would have to gain by posting defensive comments for St. James unless they were part of the organization. Everyone there, like angrymedstudent is telling the TRUTH!

Here is my view of what is wrong with the school to make you feel better.

Organization..... When we got here they were losing 3 teachiers/administrators. We had a rough time getting someone to teach the calss at first. We had 3 different teachers during the first week but things have smoothed out since. As of this week we have received 3 new professors and all are MDs with teaching experience in Anatomy and histology. Maybe more experience but I haven't inquired with them further. And we have a new Dean Mr. Sands who I have sat down with one on one and talked with him in length about the problems that students perceive is wrong.

Dr. GIL.............. Yes he is an awesome teacher and he knows his stuff. Great guy and everything. The Admin is not paying him his last month which is really wrong since he gave 30 days notice. Sad to say but that is between him and the administration. I paid for an education and I will accept nothing else so when I have a problem or our class has a concern I will talk to the Teacher, Dean or Chicago in that order.

I don't post on heresay. I talk to the professors directly or the administration. Some of what ou describe is growiing pains.

Facilities....... The building is old and the desks in a couple classrooms suck as well as some floorboards missing in some rooms. I talked to Dr. Sands about them and he will try to improve the school in certain respects in the near term as well as long term.

I talked to the new professors and at least they speak English well enough to understand their lectures, unlike some of them.

There are problems but their are attempts to fix the problems. Complaining and contributing to the rumor mill doesn't make things better.

I reccommend you come visit the school and see if you can live in this envirinment and live without a US quality facility before you apply.

The fees you have to pay to transefer are enormous. Also, the administration gets on these sites with different aliases posting a bunch of crap. The best thing one can do is to call the xavier office (xavier is a joke also, but they have a real plan for improvement) and ask for student e-mails who transeferred out of saint james to xavier. Also, saint james has lost 6 profs in teh past month. I would like to see the administration explain this (as a member of the administration, not some fake student such as "kish" who can't reveal himself)

You forgot to mention the other profs. Especially the one who does nothing but sits and eats 5000 calorie meals every meal.

My comments about St. James stem from a lot of anger and frustration about the situation on Bonaire. I know that an easy answer to the number of complaints surfacing about the school is that students who are unsuccessful transfer out and then complain. I can tell you for a fact that students who are unsuccessful at St. James stand no chance of transferring to another school. With that said, to this point I do not know of anyone who has failed a class at St. James. I personally had very good grades during my entire stay with St. James. I am a transfer student, but in the end I transferred for financial reasons. I am a Canadian student and was promised by St. James that there would be a loan program in place for Canadian students. About six weeks into the semester Dr. **** held a meeting with the students and calmly anounced that a loan program for Canadians was not important because there were not many in the school and not many expected in the future. The 30 canadian students present were not impressed and about 10 of them have subsequently transferred. I could go on, but it is important for everyone to know that the students currently at St. James range from limited to extremely bright and talented and their futures are in jeopardy because of one mans unwillingness to reinvest any of their tuition back into the school. And yes that makes a lot of people angry.
