O: 'US not at war with Islam'
Al Jazeera English - Europe - O: 'US not at war with Islam'

"Let me say this as clearly as I can: the United States is not, and will never be, at war with Islam" Barack O, US president.

Asked about his position on the issue of the killing of Armenians in the Ottoman empire in 1915 - a sensitive issue which has poisoned ties between the two allies before O tried to strike a balance.
There were protests across the country preceding O's visit,
Protesters said he was seeking to press Turkey to deploy troops in Afghanistan in an effort to control the situation there.!!!!

Why everyone is suddenly so concerned about genocide in 1915!!! Why now? Why the Armenians only they also treated Arabs very badly, Many Arab nationalist figures in Damascus and Beirut were arrested, then tortured. as If the world needs any more problems to worry about!

Armenian Genocide. Issue: Turkey's inability to deal honestly with its past. Similar to anyone in the US claiming we are abusing our power in invading another country is considered "un-American", anyone in Turkey who acknowledges their past treatment of Armenians as "genocide" is considered "un-Turkish".

Was it 1.5 million nationalist figures they tortured and killed?

Dr. F - I've never heard Armenians tied to mistreatment of Arabs...were they used as henchmen by the Ottomans, French, British? Or are you thinking of the Janissaries?

Literally speaking no country should be at war with another one over religious differences, that does not make sense.

IMHO (sorry Chopdoc, I will negotiate the royalties with you later ) there are different paths towards G-d and the Divine.

In the case of Turkey it is more an issue of having them reconcile their past with their present, while we are it, let's not forget the wrongs of other countries in more recent history for the mistreatment of innocent children, women, elders, and honest working men, like you said that is one of the major problems we have to worry about and unfortunately it is not addressed. It is convenient to point out others mistakes while we fail to see and recognize those of our own and/or our allies as well. Two wrongs won't make one right.

the genocide of the armenians by the turks is akin to the holocaust, and the turks that do not acknowledge it as such are shameful
but remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.

    Arab.....culture, language, ethnicity

    Let's stop using them interchangeably.
