Exclamation More than 160 US, NATO vehicles burned in Pakistan

My Way News - More than 160 US, NATO vehicles burned in Pakistan

Just in case my good liberal friends missed that in the text of the article, I thought I'd shaaaaare this with you:
"Associated Press writers Zarar Khan and Stephen Graham in Islamabad and Heidi Vogt and Jason Straziuso in Kabul contributed to this report."

Please don't call me anti-Muslim, anti-Gay, anti-Jew, anti-Women etc. I'm pro everything and everyone, but sometimes truth hurts.

I am not calling you anti anything but please tell me what does this forum have to do with any political issue out there. There are thousands of news and blog sites where you can go and vent your anger or promote your idealogy but this site is for medical students and issues related to medical education. Its pure and simple anyone would know that by simply browsing through main threads....

This would be a fair question, but if you flip several pages back you'll see that quite a few non-medical issues have been discussed here. Many articles are posted here at random. Some get traction on discussion, some don't. BTW, I'm not venting my anger. I am not angry at anyone in particular. I am not promoting "my ideology" either. Many things are presented here, ometimes they are extremely one-sided. However, when the discussion goes among like-minded posters, for example Sarah Palin bashing to no avail, nobody seems to ask what does it have to do w/ a forum for medical students? Well, it's just news, and it's accepted as such. Try to present something different and all he11 breaks loose on here. I, for one, ignore threads which are not of any interest to me. Sometimes they go against my convictions, but I just let it go. You may want to the same.

Okay my point is that there is a pretty decent relationship between Indians and Pakistanis especially in North America and Caribbeans. I have scores of Indian friends and we eat, enjoy, and laugh together. So when these kind of threads pop up that try to bring that sub-continent environment right here among us then I feel that these threads really don't serve any positive purpose. Think for a minute if I were to post threads that are anti-Indians or anti anyone then what am I going to gain out of it! nothing. Just my two cents...

this truth doesn't hurt at all. I mean what kind of safety would you expect in Pakistan? They have a sleazy, corrupt President who doesn't know how to run the country. They have absolutely no infrastructure for intelligence, education, transport, security, health or anything else. When you see a police on the road in Pakistan you feel threatened instead of safe.

What do you really expect from that country where i think illiteracy is upwards of 80%. any good businessman, educated person bolted that country in the past decade to US, Canada, UK, and UAE to have a safe life and make more money, not to mention freedom.

Also you have to understand that the city mentioned in the article "peshawar" is in the northwest province next to afghanistan where i would guess that educated people ate less than 5% in total and that would be generous. (in some pakistani surverys an eighth grade education is considered literate, which i think is wrong compared to the global literacy levels). That area is mountainous, impossible to regulate by anyone outside the locals. The locals unfortunately are mainly religious freaks.

So don't expect much out of them. That's the truth.

Yes, having gone to ROSS, trust me I know. But, I'd like to assure you that it is not my intention to post anything anti this or anti that. You've gotta realize that I'm not an author of these articles, and that's what makes the news. And I think it would be fair to emphasize that actually more Muslims suffer from Muslim extremism than non-Muslims of any kind. It's not about some localized conflict in India-Pakistan, Israel-Palestinian Authority etc. There is a clash of civilizations that is happening before our very eyes. Are we supposed to turn blind eye to it? I think not. By sweeping things like these under the rug we will just make problem far, far worse.
I think it would be note worthy on the 67 th anniversary of Pearl Harbor tragedy to revisit that dreadful day, and the reaction to it. Yes, many Japanese Americans suffered unjustly after it, just for a reason of being of a Japanese descent. However, some of the fearless figting forces which helped to brin about fall of the Emperial Japan consisted of the same Japanese Americans who were released from the interment camp on the worse battle field areas ever. Some of the prominent names of the WWII heros belong to guys with Italian last names. They fought not only against Wehrmacht and SS German troops, but also against armies of Benito Mussolini. Yes, American Japanese against evil Empire of Japan, American Italians against fascist State of Italy.....

....Well, 9/11 was a Pearl Harbor of our generation. I certainly hope that we will see American Muslims who are Americans first, second and third, and everything else is just that...everything else. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not some blood thirsty evil person who wants to see Muslims going against Muslims. ut we obviously living in a Bilical Time, where it's inportant to figure out whose side are you really on?

culture clashes have been happening since the beginning of time. nothing has changed. the mess that is iraq has been a mess for THOUSANDS of years. it won't change. the middle east conflicts won't change. its sad but true.
the original article just showed that some militants have been destroying things. does this really surprise anyone? they are militants, extremists on the fringe of their society. not every pakistani/muslim wants to do these things.
the big problem is people who are small minded and take the actions of a minority of the population's people as the actions of all.
but remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.

Well, that may be true, though the so-called "minority" that you refer to seems to be ever-growing. And actions of the so-called "minority" could really ruin a day even for the most"oppen-minded", "fair", "compationate", and "know it all" good liberals.
