it's uber depressing, i had to fastforward alot while i watched

(same with "Network"- i only watched the main protagonists arguement and that which he had with the dude in the boardroom- it was AWSOME)... Fastforward thru it, get the main bits and you'll find it's a film about economic slavery and how populations are kept in the fold with use of skeezy corporate tactics- they hit a lot of important points but i could have done without the shock/grim/dispair approach- if you watch part 2- it beings to feel more sci-fi (me likey) and hones on to the idea of an alturistic/utopian society (taken with a huge *** grain of salt). In the end it can be summed up in the ancient dicotomy of good versus evil; david versis goliath type deal.

I dunno where you saw corporate greed/utopian society.. the first part was interesting because it talked about the connections between Christianity and Egyptian religion, but anyone with reason knows that religion is just stories passed down through the generations and it's gonna be borrowed from an earlier source. A lot of the connections sounded tenuous at best, so the argument that the Bible is straight outta ancient Egypt in some sorta DaVinci code secret is laughable. Then part 2 was this 9/11 conspiracy that only gets attention on the internet. Haven't these been debunked already?! Left wing nut jobs aren't as crazy as those on the right, but the insinuation that there is a huge conspiracy behind the worst terrorist attack on our country, it blows my mind more than anything the right spews. I had to cut it off when Giuliani came on because he really grates me. Did we watch the same film?

no, i watched both, there's a second one out called "Addendum" um k after the religious crap it gets into money and stuff, i thot u said you didn't watch the whole thing so no we did watch the same movie i just watched the whole thing and part two, which is called "zeitgeist: Addendum". I gave my objective opinion of the movie and told you what it was about as you requested but from my point of view what i got out of my head after watching it in it's enitrety if you can call it that (i have a short attention span so if it got dull i would skip ahead, i skipped the intro)
-point: there's two movies; part one is called zeitgiest part two is called addendum
-note: in a previous post i also made a remark about the film being laughable
-please read previous posts in this forum where i say that i feel that some of the facts do not check out
-important: i try not to cut things down without first looking into what im saying so as not to sound like a donkey.

ok the claim that there's a conspiracy behind the 9/11 attacks- that's a different movie and i want to correct you because it's not a right wing claim it's a bipartisan claim but mostly trumpeted from the left and not the right and more of that I can't say because the plausibility is not without the realm of possibility. I don't want to insight any attack on myslf from any party or person I soley believe in facts, and that if they are strong they stand alone and need not be refuted. Outrage is reserved for when a person or institution goes against the rights of individuals; plainly- i just hate to see people being taken advantage of.

but that part of the 9/11 thing i think it was because they were trying to say that a plane could not cause the falling of the tower let alone provoke the second tower to collapse, explosions were heard comming from the basement before the upper levels; in the weeks preceeding the incident security was relieved of service while a group visited the building for who knows what; professionals seeing the video described the valling of the building as being what a purposely demolished building would look like giong down; bombs are planted when profesionally bringing down a building, demolishing each floor; and they also said that the building was built to such a code with such materials that a plane could not possibly have melted the steel, but a bomb could have... i have to say that i really don't want to get into this but i have to read your post and clarify ok? the guy that bought the twin towers took out an insurance policy just before the event happened too, um and guliani hired the contracters that came in to clean it up.
this im stating from what i remember of the film. The bigger deal is that so many people lost their family members and loved ones and the people who came in as part of fire rescue and volunteers, some of them suffered major health problems after the fact. People came together and the end result was america went to war on bin laden... but instead of finding him in afghanistan... they went looking for the WMD's in iraq. that is what played out.

sure, lemme just say this..

I'll defin check out the addendum part if that's the one that details corporate control of power and ideas. I'm sure that has some merit. I woulda gotten through it all, but it got weird and tiring.. I'll take your advice and skip through those parts. But I'm curious to see what the film has to say about my view that we've gone from discussing ideas to spouting talking points. Nobody wants to really talk about the candidates health plans (last plug, i promise) - they just like to argue. Just for the record, I don't think you sounded like a donkey and I noticed that you said to take the movie with a grain of salt so I was critiqing the movie and not trying to belittle you in any way.

But I respectfully disagree with your ascertation that a conspiracy of any sorts is even within the realm of possibility. I did state that it's solely the far left that claims it.. maybe it was confusing, but I was trying to say that if there is one thing the far left says that surprises me more than the right.. it's this conspiracy theory. The film makes a strong case, but the facts in it are false and have been refuted. Regardless, when the country came together, the gov't defin took us in the wrong direction and in the end, we're even further divided than before. Still, there is no way the gov't orchestrated this event to push their agenda, it just made it easier for them.

Here's something that also disturbs me: a 90 year old woman shot herself in the chest in a failed suicide attempt (i almost teared up with anger) because they were going to forclose on her house (which looks like crap anyway) thanks the the Fannie and Freddie fiasco.

There was a similar incident in Los Angeles, a financial analyst who lost his job killed his family and then himself a few days ago. How this will effect the election and the next president? Either candidate who wins will probably be a one term president. The problems left behind from the current administration are too serious to fix in four years.

"Either candidate who wins will probably be a one term president"

I thought the same in 2000.
