my favorite line of the article is The finding "seems very reasonable," said Dan Ariely, a professor of behavioral economics at MIT's Program in Media Arts and Sciences and Sloan School of Management. "Men are very sensitive to women's attractiveness. Women seem to be sensitive to men's height and salary," said Ariely, who was not involved in the recent study.

please dont tell me a study was actually funded. they could have gave me the money and i would have wrote the abstract for them without any extra work needed

...why do we men go for "Hot Woman"?
considering the fact that beauty is skin deep.....I remember a veteran advising me, never marry a very beautiful girl, every eye will be on her,lol. I think those guys are really lucky who get married to a 'good person', and vice versa for girls...why marry a scumbag who earns tons of dough if the person is a scumbag.....:-)

This is nothing new, look at Princess Diana and Charles. It is rare to see a good looking man with an ugly wife, but the opposite is common(Donald Trump and his wife). Most women tend to find income potential as the most important characteristic in a mate. Men tend to look at physical beauty more.

It amazes me how crap research like this gets funded... almost every single relationship book you read will tell you the same thing:
Men are generally more visually/physically motivated - they notice a woman's attractiveness above & before all else. Women are generally more concerned with security (financial and otherwise...), and emotional connections than they are with looks.

Princess Diana was ugly...she looked like big bird on sesame street. Glad to hear all ya'll will be taking the ugly women of my hands so the hot ones are left waiting on me!!!
