There are many other cities/metros with greater populations that probably would have made a better fan base. (San Diego and Vegas off the top of my head) I read some Seattle fan's idea of putting a new stadium a little closer to Canada to try and tap into Vancouver's market. I dunno what's dampened my excitement for the game in the past 4 yrs - too many games or too many teams? I hate how some teams don't play till Feb. cause it doesn't really matter (except for this yr where the West is just insane).
I especially hate when teams on the bottom rung mail it in at the end of the season. They walk around the court like its a pickup game. I think ESPN once suggested that they drop the worst 2 teams in the league and replace them with the best D-league teams. Imagine the backlash in NY if the Knicks played D-league, hahaha. It's an interesting idea that'll never see daylight.

Speaking of Microsoft, Bill should not spend any for the cause. He fell to third on the rich list.

Maybe Seattle will get a new Basketball team with a more appropriate name, the Seattle Baristas or maybe the Seattle Starbucks.

Bill fell only on purpose, a few years ago he gave away 20 Billion big ones to charity.

The name Supersonics was a tip to Boeing, which used to be in Seattle.

boeing still builds their planes in seattle, so i still think the name still fits...... although i do believe the name came during the era that boeing was working on a supersonic plane to compete with the concorde.

as far as the latest offer..... i think the state would be fools to let this one up. basically, it is 300 million privately financed and only 75 million needed from public money. that public money would come from just extending a tax on rental cars and hotels (not raising them).
