Let them go. A fresh start may do them some good besides they will go where the money is.

I know it's all business but it's shady how ownership went about this move. And OKC?! "Introducing the Oklahoma City SuperSonics!"..?! yeah right... No way there is a market there. I see them leaking money in 2 yrs, moving out in 6.

Oklahoma City Supersonics does not have much of a ring to it. Maybe now that Boeing is in Chicago, Chicago Supersonics might sound better. Utah Jazz never quite sounded right either.
I loved how they renamed the Washington Bullets to Washington Wizards, sort of wanted to draw attention away from Washington DC's high crime rate.

If they can sell tickets for home games (win some games) and make money in concessions who knows? A small market team like the Kings are doing pretty well.

Ryan Parker Songs: Save the Sonics (2000 Miles)

there is a huge grassroots effort to keep them. hopefully they will succeed.

this hits close to home for me since this almost happened to the orlando magic. however we were in a good position to increase our tourist bed tax to fund over $1 billion worth of projects including a new $500 million arena, $200 citrus bowl renovation, and a new $500 million performing arts center. although, it is easy for orlando to do this since this is free to the orlando residents. only john and jane smith (on a disney vacation from oklahoma city ) pay the tax for us.

i really feel for sacramento, salt lake city, etc with older arenas and no way to finance new ones. no city is immune to this no matter how big they are (seriously seattle to OKC ). this is a horrible precedent. whats next, the new york knicks to birmingham?
