oh, and max, people may be second guessing obama after the whole rev mess. his poll numbers are dropping and mccain now would win against hillary OR obama. maybe this is the reason for the "big" speech tommorrow because for once, obamas campaign is shaken up and worrying. although, i still dont think hillary can overtake hime with the proportional distribution of delegates. i for one hope she will try to use the scorched earth tactic. that will make life extremely easy for mccain (maybe you would even vote for mccain too at that point ).

Its not about Obama's race Tipton, its his actions.
Phony accent, alingnment with hate mongerers, and most importantly, his audacity to run for presidency even though he is in his first term at the senate. And do you know why he can pull it off? Because he can FLUFF, very well at that.

This is not personal Tpton, dont bring your family into this.Dont chose Obama because your are black or married to a black person. If Obama was white, and had he changed his upper class accent to ghetto, to suit his political career, people would have shouted 'PHONY'.

I'm not going to make this personal. Especially with an anonymous poster or two.

My apologies.

What was Obama's compulsion to change his white accent to black? Except political gain.

I am anonymous as the forum allows so.
I did not mean any ill unto you.I just felt that your support for Obama, was NOT all politics, but had a personal angle too.
My regrets if they offended you, none intended.

WOW

The content of this thread is amazing.

How do you talk a color?!?!?!!?

How does one sound black or sound white? So do native americans sound brownish red

We all style flex when necessary.
Surely you don't use your club swagger at your med school/ residency interviews.
Please tell me that I'm not the only flexer here. Please tell me that the way I talk to my kiddos at home or on the ball field is not the same way I should be talking to grown ups at work.

As a matter of fact I talk to the masses of ***** I encounter daily totally different than I talk to my beloved friends and family.

POLITICS ARE ALWAYS PERSONAL
Some folks place there hopes and aspirations in the political system and in the candidates. Some folks don't give a flip and that's personal too.

There's a lot of anti-everything chit chat that goes on from the pulpits/ alters of America. That's the beauty of seperation of church and state and freedom of speech.

Most followers of a faith don't agree with or practice everything that's preached. If they did then the divorce rate in the Christian church would be nil, there would be no teen pregnancy and a lot of other nonsense that folks get looped up in would not be happening,

Oh yeah but there's always exceptions just ask those REBBOK wearing comet chasing folks in CALI.

The good thing about a preacher with an activist stance is that at least you know where he's coming from. Blabber mouths are a good thing. No sneaky foxes, no surprises.

Those quiet types are the scary ones. You know the sort, members of the chamber assiting in red linning neighborshoods, secretly supporrting the street worker industry, molesting their own kiddos and those in the choir. Cheating on their spouse with male and female members of the church administration.Yeah their not talking about a damn thing just doing it!!!!

All the mega preachers on TV black, white, persian and otherwise speak out against America and her "wicked ways", weekly on TBN and many other channels every Sunday morning. Yes on federally regulated airwaves they say what they want and people pay them!

So what's my point?????????????/

Nothing

other than to say if you hold a man's preacher's opinions against the man then hold his college selection, neighborhood, golf membership and everything else against him/her and every other candidate too. BE CONSISTANT!!!

Ummmm in the mean while I'm offering an awesome deal on some annointed prayer rugs. Call in now 1-800 2B-DUPED and I'll send you two for a love offering of $100 plus 6 easy S&H installment of 29.95/month.

If Obama is not to be held responsible for what his preacher is saying, well maybe, then Obama should let Rev. Wright continue in his campaign.....

But now that the campaign crowd is all 'unified' looking, it was time to let go Rev. Wright, Right?

Nucleus/Shikima now you know I was going to comment on behalf of your posts. Its not a secret in this world that I am black and I have made it known on this forum! But what I don't understand and what I am completly bothered by is the fact that behind your posts and all your rev wright bashing that you two are the type of 'people' he was speaking of!

SO in order to be black you have to talk ghetto? SO thats how you associate what black is? Thats the stuff thats holding us back from uniting like Obama suggested in his speech last night. The "I'm not racist and I don't stereotype people I just believe in hard work and its not about color" and then you imply stuff like in order to be black you have to speak ghetto. I'm sorry I have heard people of all colors sound hood so in my opinion its unversial!

Middle class white america should not hold their head in shame who in the world said they should?! WHo in the world is blaming middle class americans for the race issue? Middle class america should not hold their head in shame they should stop feeling threatened anytime someone speaks of race if anything. I say if the show fits wear it! Rest assure there will still be a middle class america and people are not going to loose power if there is a black president I promise. There will be no slave reversal, black panther party and the 'hood' coming through your neighborhood...thats my scouts honor

The race issue comes from people who are unwilling to acknowledge that it still exists and feels threatened when some doesn't fit into their box! I have been an advocate for a long time that yes we have a long way to come but until we talk about it and people stop lying NOTHING will change!! Middle class America is voting for Obama so how are they holding their head shame. Those who authorized the war should hold their head in shame. Those who Allowed thousands of U.S citizens to drown in N.O should be ashamed! Those who want to be at war in 2 countries for another 100 years should be ashamed!

Whoever put Obama had an easy life???....what?? have you ever been a black man in America? Granite, not every black man has a hard time because for the most part people are accepting and kind spirited and when you are a child of God favor is placed before you... but its no walk in the park!

Im going to stop before I really get off topic!! But now more then ever I really need Obama to be president to show you guys that black comes in all flavors educated, sophisticaed, well spoken, hood, and everything in between. It seems more then ever that people aren't as much concerned with his 'lack of experience' then they are with the color of his skin.

Oh yeah the michael jackson thing....if you believe he bleached his skin because of a skin disorder I feel really bad for you

FYI, I've never heard anything like that in my churches. Even when I goto Catholic mass with my wife, I've never heard a priest talk in this fashion. Never heard Baptist ministers, or Lutheran, or even those of the Mormon faith claim such blatent inflammatory statements.

Besides, when has a church become such a refuge of hate?

This has nothing to do with Fox News, Rush Limbaugh or any other conservative talk show host, this has to do with Obama saying what horrible things this guy has said and initiaite a similar action to the senate's censure. He was on his campaign until recently when he was quietly removed. Obama knows this guys history for attending the church for the past 20 years. I really doubt this is a single, isolated incident.

No, sorry, middle-class white america shouldn't hold its head in shame any longer. They are not the root of all the evil in race issues. It is time for all persons of all colors to accept responsibility rather than carrying on the current mentality which ultimately results in a status quo.

I don't think Obama can make these changes happen, but we all need to do our part and stop watching MTV.
