The US could survive but realistically, the mindset of most people in the US is based upon consumerism, Americans like to live good and have a good material life. Much of the US economic prosperity happens to based upon internal consumer spending. Many of things we buy are not made in the USA, and in fact hardly any of it except for food.
Still it should be alarming that a third world country(although it will be First world in the not too distant future) like China can affect the destiny of the US this way, its obvious that they are well on their way to becoming the world power. China has been dumping their goods on the American consumer and now they are beginning to the do the same to Europe, the Chinese have been behind the rise of the Euro.
Lots of money doesn't necessarily buy happiness anyhow. Then again life is not that simple. I got a gorgeous blonde Ukrainian girlfriend, I mean beautiful, but I have a sinking feeling if I take her back to the US she will drop me like a bad habit, lets face it young EE types get all the men they want in North America cooing them. In Oz, where 70 percent of the females are blonde.. no worries.

Your quality of life is linked more and more to money in America even that might change with the continuing and rapid fall of the value of the greenback, I can honestly get the same things in Oz for a lot less fuss and hassle, many Australians have no idea how easy their lives are, plus Australians get more vacation time an average of 5 weeks a year. I love to see the world there is a lot of wonderful things out there, especially of the female variety.

I know a few friends back home to married foreign women and are having a hell of a time with immigration as well as people calling them losers. I suggest visiting Eastern Europe and getting a look at some of the women there, you will never look at an American woman again.

What "a lot of things" were you trying to get in the US that caused a lot of hassle? Nothing illegal I hope. Because otherwise, 99% of the time it's a simple swipe of your credit card to get what you want.

Women of all things, women from many foreign countries are a lot more fun to spend time with than your typical American female. Back home in Chicago, I am just George the peasant. It is almost impossible to hook up with a good woman unless you own a car in most parts of the US, NYC being the only exception.

WOW.. seriously, WOW. Did you seriously just get out of high school or something that having a car keeps you from getting a woman? WOW.

Once you get a taste of the Ukraine Russian types you will never go back. I meant if you want a good woman not just any woman you need a nice car a 200k a year job, etc.
EE women tend to treat men with more respect too.
