In many shame based societies - there is permission given for suicide and also for snapping and violence. It is most unfortunate and leads to difficult situations.

Looking at the list of people killed at VT - there were some really smart students and teachers. They will be missed.

using the fact that asians have it hard is just an excuse. i am asian, i get alot of pressure. its life, deal with it. life isn't easy for anyone, doesn't mean that suicide or murder is an option.

He was suffering from depression and recently started to take medication for depression.
We have no idea that once he was on meds. Did he follow up with his physician?.
With anti-depression, we all know the side effect of anti depression meds; manic episode and sucidal ideation are very high.

They said he was "lonely", I read something about another lonely student at the U of Missouri who tried to scare the campus security saying he had anthrax. People like these really need a good beating.

if you are curious about some of the warning signs evident in some of his school work, consider reading his one act play that was submitted for credit in his short story writing class. you gotta have real issues to actually turn a peice of garbage like this in for credit in a college class.
