SABA University School of Medicine is a nonprofit foundation that was established to provide a comprehensive basic science and clinical medicine education leading to completion of a Doctor of Medicine degree
SABA University - www.saba.edu - international medical university college

Prove them wrong then.

saba is nonprofit?.... hahaha. i think that's iffy.

the concept is a little confusing.

"Nonprofits generally do not operate to generate profit, a characteristic widely considered to be the defining characteristic of such organizations. However, a nonprofit organization may accept, hold and disburse money and other things of value. It may also legally and ethically trade at a profit. The extent to which it can generate income may be constrained, or the use of those profits may be restricted. Nonprofits therefore are typically funded by donations from the private or public sector, and often have tax exempt status. Private donations may sometimes be tax deductible."

well, i'm straying off topic.

Any school can be non-profit. All you have to do is super-inflate salaries (which you can bet your backside that Dr F has done with Saba), and the school will "lose" money. If I had a practice and took in $400,000 a year but paid myself $400,001 a year, I'd be a non-profit too.

non-profit on the island of SABA is a gimic, there are no laws there that dictate profit/non. So when people read that they are non-prof it looks all peachy. SABA however did orginally build the school with the help of the local government. But hardly non-profit. You can bet you **** that they funnel money through MUA if they had any issues.

what makes it a non-profit? they aren't given any US non-profit organization status. its just words.

all the money Saba is pulling in has to be going somewhere.

I don't buy the non-profit thing either. While the organization as a whole may be technically not for profit, you'd better bet the people running the show are seeing a profit (as salary). I'm fairly sure there aren't too many forensic CPA's scouring their records anyhow, so it would be hard to know anything concrete...but all educated guesses point to --> profit.
