i saw this on the news... he topped the meical boards int he philippines and shocked everyone by pursuing nursing in the US... but returned to the philippines because of discrepancies with contract and contracting agency.

I find the story a little confusing? Premed Nursing? They are called Nurses several times? Is this one of those countries where you go through a step as a Nurse then a DR? I did read about that before.
 I do not think they are MD's yet.

actually, no.
his undergraduate course was nursing before he went into medical school... so technically, he was already a nurse before he became a doctor....

so a lesson that can be learned is that if you ever see a phillipine nurse, he or she can very well possibly be a MD. treat them nicely and you will learn a lot more and probably wont make a fool out of yourself
but that usually goes the same for all nurses anyway.
