How about a game like FarCry, Doom 3, F.E.A.R., Quake 4 etc. Something where we can shoot each other and waste hours at a time.

I can, of course, host the games. I have a dual 3.0 GHz Xeon with 4GB of RAM and a 8 Mbps connection.....

Aw, shucks, that's nothing. I'm already planning (saving like I'm putting microphage through AUC...) my next system. Dual quad core, likely Intel at this point, with Dual GPU graphics cards in SLI. When I hit power, the lights will dim. Looks like Q1 of '07.

I'm really hooked on running servers as my main system. My dual Xeon is smooth as silk, and the server motherboards are far more stable than desktops. I don't get the hubbub about the dual core CPU's, I've been running 2 CPU's for years. I still have a dual P3-450 that I run Linux on. It's about time the rest of you people catch up. I hope to never have a main system with less than 2 physical sockets. I wish I could afford 4, but those run well above $1000 just for the motherboard.

So, what about Quake 2 or something old? You can probably get good framerates on that. We could do Wolfenstein, the multiplayer portion of it is available as a free download.......
