Need some input please

Attention users and guests:

If you haven't already noticed, ValueMD displays banners on some pages almost exclusively related to International Medical Education while rejecting all other commercial ads. However, every once in a long while, VMD will try out a product which it feels might benefit medical students.

We tried this with ePhasia, but would like to get some feedback from our users about whether or not the product is beneficial for International Medical Students or not. If it is useful, we'll continue to display the banner. But if it's not very useful, we will not renew the agreement after the current term.

Your input is appreciated.

Hmmm....no votes yet?? Does that mean that nobody is interested in this product, or that nobody is interested in helping out? Maybe nobody knows what it is?

Here is the banner that I'm talking about

If you don't know what it is or aren't interested in it, please fill in the "no" section of the poll so that we will know that it is not something that should be advertised here. Or click the banner to see what it's about and come back to fill out the poll about whether or not it seems useful for the site.

Again, thanks for your input.

Once you click on the banner it seems helpful. Maybe someone should talk to their marketing/advertising dept about that ad. You have to look at it for a while before it becomes clear specifically what they are advertising.
I can see the product being helpful, but they need to make the ad clearer.

Make sense?

Hhhmmm.....this doesn't seem to be working.....I can't get much input here for some reason. The poll has been running for about a week and it's only had 2 votes.....1 for and 1 against.....which leads me back to not knowing whether ePhasia is useful for International Medical students or not .

Does anyone use it or have any opinions good or bad? Does anyone NOT use it.....if so, please mark "no". It's not my product, so I don't care if you like it or not personally. I would just like to know if it's something that should be offered on this site. A simple yes or no will help us determine whether or not to continue allowing them to advertise on the site. So please take a minute to help out. Thanks.

p.s. Thanks to islandwife and the 2 voters thus far who have provided input

I would imagine that it would be more usefull to very near future potential students or currents. However i think the idea is good, advertising such things, however i think there would be things which are more suitable for starting-out medical students, things like laptops, medical resources, medical student supplies, cheap stationary. Im not sure that many medical students will be interested in broadband/telephone lines, as;

1) more important things to be thinking about.
2) If on campus, lots of students have internet access.

At the end of the day, the advertising is a great idea! Just try and keep it totally relevent to medical studies, discount books etc..

I voted...Never used these broadband phone lines, even while in Dominica. Cell phones were sufficient (expensive...but that is another story).

The Problem with VOIP technology for FMG students is access to quality high-speed internet access and ISPs that are consistent in the technology they are selling to the consumer.

I also believe that the poll is a bit limited in that you have a binary answer and no other explaination of ePhasia.

While the idea is good, can ePhasia broaden their market by including those that aren't on US or European soil? And lastly, is this a company that offers service like Vonage?

Looks like ePhasia isn't as useful for VMDers as we had originally thought it might be . Oh well, at least now we know. So at the end of the current term, we'll be removing the ePhasia banner thanks to your feedback.

Thanks to those who voted and those who replied. Your input was very much appreciated

Doc, if you put Star Wars ads and gun ads in the AUC forum, I'm sure it would generate lots of clicks. Just a thought.
