drug Q

25 yo white F seen in ER c/o chest pain, 8/10 on pain scale. She is hypervigilant and anxious. Pulse = 120, BP 140/97. She has widely dilated pupils. Tox screen is positive. Which of the following is most likely found in tox screen?

a. Ritalin
b. heroin
c. PCP
d. cocaine

cocaine intox is correct - you see euphoria, psychomotor agitation, pupillary dilation, htn, paranoia, hallucinations esp tactile = cocaine bugs, angina.....


withdrawal SX = hypersomnolent, fatigue, depression, malaise

Looks to me there are many such answers which were not known to me and would get clear from this place itself. Like the answer to the said question was not clearly known to me so this enriched my knowledge, and am optimistic this place will make me wiser than before.
