psych Q

26 yo divorced male is seen in the hospital for unremitting and intense flank pain that has been treated multiple times in ER throughout the region. He has been admitted for a work-up of medical causes of the pain, but after several days and increasing use of pain meds, his condition and complaints are unchanged. He has been found smoking in the bathroom several times despite multiple warnings and has nearly become physical with security when they were called about his belligerent behavior. The most likely diagnosis is

a. acute psychotic reaction
b. schizotypal personality disorder
c. dissociative disorder
d. antisocial personality disorder
e. temporal lob epilepsy

could be ACUTE PSYCHOTIC REACTION..since by definition it is marked by the presence of delusion or hallucination after a traumatic or stressful event from 1 day to 1 mth.
So acc. to def. this pt is divorced, smoking in toilet shows the intensity of his stress & his pain is only a deusion abt his own health + fight with security shows agression due to his stress.
