I just transferred undergrad schools and at my old school I had taken:
bio-2qtrs, chem-3qtrs, o-chem- 1 qtr, math w/calc 5qtrs, english 2qtrs.
At my new school this coming year I'm planning on taking: genetics 1 qtr, develop. bio 1 qtr , physics 3 qtrs, english 1 qtr, psych 1qtr, o-chem 2 qtrs. I'm gonna take the MCAT next August.
Most likely I'm going to be applying to Carrib. med schools since my gpa is so low: science 3.0, overall 2.8. I've taken a few practice MCAT's and received scores in 30-31 range.
I'm planning on applying to med schools in Fall 2004. My question is regarding the bio reqirement of 1 year for med school. The sequence of the intro bio series at my new school differs from that of my old school, so my new school is letting me go straight into upper division bio and take whatever I want. Can I use the upper division genetics or devlop. bio. classes as my 3rd qtr of the 1yr bio requirement. Will schools not accept my application because I only have 2 qtrs of lower division bio?
Thanks in advance for any responses.
