residency...

You are actually better off posting this in the Residency forum but I will give you the low down.
1. You need to apply and take USMLE step 1, Step 2 CK and CS. These are the first 3 exams needed to apply for a residency in the US.
2. Then once you have obtained a passing score in all you need to apply for residency through ECFMG, this is an organization that handles all teh paperwork for foreign doctors. Your application actually is filled out electronically through ERAS another organization that deals with the computer common application and submitting it to individual programs.

Since you are a foreing graduate even with 10 years experience you will have to take these exams and do a residency over again in order to practice in the US. Say you are a neurosurgeon in your coutry and want to do that in the US well that might not be possible. Certain fields are very competitive and are incredibly tough to get into even for somone with alot of experience because what matters are your test scores and letter of recommendations. I was working with an opthmologist from india who was my 1st year resident in surgery because he could not match into optho even with his vast experience.
Like I said go to the residency forum and the individual organization's website to get more info. www.ecfmg.org is the best place to start and you can go from there.
