Best source for US info: https://services.aamc.org/publicatio...2451E4CF478E0B

Canadian schools you are better off simply going to the individual med school's website and searching that way. Two main things to keep in mind for Canadian schools: 1) you must be a Canadian citizen and 2) odds of admission are actually less than for US citizens in US med schools.

stateofequilibrium will become famous soon enough
You will still need to fulfill the basic requirements, most often 1 year of Biology, Chemistry, Orgranic Chemistry, Physics +/- Biochemistry and things like Math and English. You will also be required to sit for the MCAT as well. Best to go to the home page of medical schools you are interested in and look up their requirements, and check out the AAMC/AMCAS page as well.

English was what I was specifically looking for.
What kind of english requirements do most us med schools have? One year with essay component, or something more intense?
Also is it hard for non- us residents to get in? what med school accept students from canada?

The general english requirement for applicants is one year of english literature and composition...basically, the one year of freshman english required of all students (unless they have AP credit).

It is difficult for non-U.S. citizens to gain admission to US medical schools. Some schools will not accept applications from non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Additionally, there are some schools (ex. NYMC and Weill Cornell) that will accept international students but, since they are not eligible for U.S. financial aid programs, require the student to hold (in escrow) an amount of money equal to the cost of attendance for 4 years at the school.

I can tell you off the top of my head that the following schools do not accept applications from non-U.S. citizens/permanent residents: University of Vermont, LSU and UCSD.
