First Year Undergrad

So, I had a pretty rough first year. I ended up with a gpa first year of 2.52. Is there any chance of recovering from this and getting into sgu? Saba? or Ross?

Oh, and the 2.52 was calculated using the OMSAS conversion chart for 2009

Depends on why it was rough... Get a 4.00 the next 3 years and your GPA will be 3.64. There you go...

Oh, Pshaw, of course, lol Overall if you can graduate with at least a 3.4 cum. and a higher sGPA (or at least a 3.0, which means you're going to have to get some "A's"). With a solid MCAT (26 and up). I think you'll be fine. If possible retake anything you got a "C" in. That might help, but it's only your first year, so you should be fine, unless it was a matter of grasping material because it only gets more complicated, of course. It would be a good idea though to figure out where you went wrong and correct it lest it be the same thing for your remaining years. If this is your worst year, you can always explain it away later in your personal statement, as long as there is improvement. Good luck.

You may be unable to repeat course work since Canadian schools aren;t in the habit of allowing students to repeat anything unless it's an F. All Carib schools are pretty Canadian friendly. Take your first year as a lesson and work hard to aim for A's.
