PreMed and MD /or BSc and MBBS

Hey ppl! I'm so confused and I need help. I am currently doing my GCE A/Ls.. Im a student in Sri Lanka by the way.. And im faced with a few problems and options..
1) Do Pre Med followed by MD.. is MCAT hard?
2) Do a BSc and do MBBS .. in a uni which had grad entry
3) Or just straight away do MBBS after A/L's in a university which has an undergrad entry..

The other problem is that my parents can afford to send me only to a place like China or Tbilisi State MU in Georgia.. both of which I dont want to..
So if I wanna go to the US or Australia , I'm gonna have to try for a scholarship...
Please help Im really confused..anyone know any affordable medical u's??

Its insanely hard for an international student to get into premed in the US, trust me, Ive tried. Your best bet is the Caribbean.

The Australian route would be alot more painstaking, and you would need exceptional GAMSAT marks to get into a med school there.

The pricing is very similar, so it all comes down to choice. Would you rather live in the US or Australia?

There are some medical schools in the US that do not permit international students to apply. There are other schools that will admit international students...but they require all international students to hold money, in escrow, in an amount equal to 4 years of schooling (probably at least $300,000 to include tuition + fees, room + board).

The public medical schools in the US are often the most affordable...but many of them limit admission to in-state students only (Louisiana is one example). There are state schools that will consider out of state/international applicants (like the State University of New York system), but they must often possess superior qualifications.

The MCAT isn't difficult, but it's not easy. It requires a dedication to thorough preparation. The biggest problem for international students is, since I assume the MCAT is only presented in English, that you would need to have a solid grasp on the language (especially to do well on the verbal section).

Oh yes. It is quite literally impossible to get into a premed program in the US for international students. And at that, it is extremely difficult to get into med if you have the qualifications. It is easier in Australia, but your bachelor degree will be considered inferior and they will require you to undergo testing for your scientific apptitude.
