Help!

Hello. I am in a very tough position right now. I'd really appreciate it if people can take five minutes to read my situation and reply back with an opinion. Heres my case:

I am currently in my second year of at the University of Toronto, Canada. My overall gpa currently is less than a 1.7. There are a bunch of reasons as to why its low, ranging from depression, breakups, death of a relative which im not going to to mention here. I am a very hard working student but its just that I have been distracted with my issues over the past year or so. Right now, my family is moving to the U.S which leads me to some set of choices. Either I start my undergrad over fresh in the U.S or I can go to the carribeans and not only do my pre-med but also earn an M.D subsequently. What ever path I take I'll have to disregard all the credits that I have earned so far which I am not ashamed of nor do i regret. I am in a bit of debt which I will also pay off. But I have the opportunity to do things right this time and am jutst a bit confused. Please guys, help me.

If time is not a problem for you... ,start college over and get into US med school. Also.., its away a good idea to get your BA/** first before going to medical school.

I would definitely start fresh in the States. Not only will the higher potential GPA help you, but doing better in your classes will help build a better foundation when you start the basic sciences; the pace goes by quick, so idk about you, but i would rather be spending more time learning about clinical diseases instead of trying to relearn all the basics.

Good luck with your endeavors

Cheers,

Calvin
