Classes to Raise GPA

Our members don't see this ad.
Hi, I was wondering what would be some good classes to take to help raise my gpa. I am a junior basically doing my upper division biology classes which I feel good about. However, I need to raise my gpa because I took a hard hit in ochem straight C's. I was interested in anthropology and was thinking of picking up the minor which would give me more classes to take to raise my gpa, would it have any negative effects when admissions view it? Thanks

Think sciences - Anthropology may not be classified as a science (while it is), also look at the grades the profs give per time spent studying at your school. There are easy profs and hard profs. For fun but easy to study for classes look at astronomy, statistics (there formulas are adding+division and you get to use a computer and software to run them), also psychology is good and useful.

I see but will they look down at me taking lower division sciences like astronomy and such rather than say taking up an anthro minor to kind of diversify myself from the usual bio sci majors which I am? Thanks

Astronomy at most schools is a physics course. So it is listed as an upper level physics course in your transcript hehe. I don't look down on it - it was flat out fun for me and great knowledge. You want fun courses that hold your interest and you enjoy knowing and learning the info in the course. You will always do better in these courses than required standardized courses. I always liked exercise physiology also. Most of my journal papers were in exercise physiology sports medicine. Also see if you can take respiratory therapy courses they are very good also if your school has them.
