Ignorance...

So pretty much my entire afternoon was spent trying to transfer an EMT-B class to my home university's transcript. (I took the class at a local comm.college that my local F.D sent me to and paid for) I accepted the fact that the credits wont go towards my major, but could be used as general elective credits. Plus it's free 5 credit hours. Also I just want them on my trancript for application time. (It can only help, albeit not much!)
In order to do this I needed to get my universities "equivilant" of the comm. colleges class, and have it recorded on a transient form.
So after talking to, and being transfered 3 times, I finally talked to an academic advisor, for the schools emergeny manegement program. I explained the situation, and I mentioned I just wanted the credits on my transcript, I want to go to medical school, etc.

She went on about, "oouh well your a libral arts major, you cant go to medical school, I see here you took all these chemistry classes, why arent you a Biology major?"
I explained that ANY major, with the proper pre-req's, and 90 credits can apply to med school. Her responce was priceless, "well ANYONE can apply, but they wont get accepted unless there a Bio major."

At this point I just surrendered (the same way I do when talking politics), and said, "oou ok"
Does this fool, really think Im going to give up the past 3 years and change my major due to a 2 minute conversation with a person that I never meet?!?

Has anyone else had to explain this?
Does anyone else know any non-Bio licensed Docs?

I know at least 3 docs personaly who are IMG/AMG, and did not major in Bio!

Sorry I just had to rant.

jameslynton is an unknown quantity at this point
I see you have found out that most pre-med advisers got the job because they drew the short straw.

I know at least thirty MD's who were not biology or chemistry majors! Many took the pre-reqs after they graduated in English, Pol Sci, or Econ. At age 22-26 they had a much easier time than freshmen dealing with Bio 101 or chemistry, and these MD's went to US medical schools!

Smile and follow your path! I think you are doing well!
