Quick Question

Hello,

I'm currently a student at Penn State University. My first two semesters of college I screwed up, I ended up with an incredibly low GPA (mainly from not concentrating I suppose). I decided to transfer to a different schhol which is where I am at now. I'm not far off from completing a ** in science and have maintained a near perfect 4.0 at PSU.

The question I was wondering is, was the two semesters I screwed up going to hurt me from getting into any type of professional/graduate school ?

Thanks

Yes, it will hurt you. It doesn't matter if you transffered to another school or not but they will see a huge (dramatic) improvement since you said that your GPA at PSU is 4.0. I just hope that when you said your first two years were horrible, it doesn't not include the premed sciences.

Of course it won't look good. But they will take into account your huge improvement, if you did good on the MCAT, extracurriculars, etc etc. There have been many a med student who royally screwed up their first year. I know one that did and went on to be a neurosurgeon, so don't fret.

Sounds like a great story for the "personal statement" on how you saw what was wrong, fixed the problem, and then were successful. A way to explain the negative.
