Hi this is a thread where MCAT prep material is listed and evaluated for VMD users.

I call it like I see it. I am not paid by ValueMD or any school. Nor do I recruit for any school.

Just a note to the wise. In perusing this forum for MCAT strategies I ran across a note from a "John Wetzel" He was touting "Wikipremed" open source as a way to study for the MCAT. Be aware. The phone numbers to contact this company are not valid. In order to be successful in his program it is highly recommended that you purchase "special" study material. He will take your money and not send you the materials. This boy is a fraud! I have filed complaints with my CC company to have my funds returned. Caveat emptor!

Caveat emptor! John Wetzel who touts wikipremed as a free open source study for the MCAT is running a scam. In order for your greatest success you must order his "special" materials. Money is sent but goods are not delivered. After many emails, no response. Phone is disconnected. My CC was charged. I filed a complaint with the CC company to have my funds returned. Since John advertised in this thread I thought some real feedback about his sleazy organization is warranted.

First Question: I have acquired 10 MCAT workbooks/studybooks. I listed them below. Could someone or anyone tell me if any of these or which of these if good, bad, mediocre, etc.?Anyone tell me how helpful, beneficial, not beneficial, etc, this will be?

Second Question:Also, anyone know if you can bring in a dictionary in the MCAT exam?

Third Question: For Inorg 1&2,Org 1&2, Physics, Bio 1&2, Chem 1&2, to do well on the MCAT, should I basically know all the material that's presented during the semester or just in the MCAT workbooks or both?

Fourth Question:I know this sounds crazy, but I want to prepare as early as possibly. Although I have not yet been taught all the material, I still want to look over the material consistently because I have the workbooks.

Note: I tried to make all the font and everything the same and consistent but no luck.

    TEN Workbooks:

    1) "Barron's New MCAT, 2007 (Barron's How to Prepare for the New Medical College Admission Test Mcat)" by Hugo Seibel

2)"Cracking the MCAT CBT, 2nd Edition" (Graduate School Test Preparation) [Paperback]

    3) "Examkrackers 101 Passages in MCAT Verbal Reasoning" [Paperback]***** Orsay (Author)

Examkrackers is excellent for verbal prep, although some have said it is weak in physics and biology because it doesn't teach the underlying concepts behind what they're teaching. I've also heard good things about the Kaplan MCAT Premier Program if you need more extensive review of the subjects

You cannot bring anything into the exam room. You are only provided with a pencil and scratch paper by the testing center.

Hello. This is John Wetzel. WikiPremed is not a scam. I have devoted nearly twenty years of my life to this project. Earlier this year I suffered a series of personal crisis that left me incapacitated. After a great deal of work getting back into I am trying my best to make it up to those I let down.

    Uh no...

Sorry Johnny dude. My bank statements prove you otherwise. Taking money, not delivering materials is a scam. Non working numbers, no email correspondence......oh btw my cc company refunded the money your company stole.

For me it was Verbal for sure. I had the book in the first post and it helped a lot but those poetry and philosophy type passages were killer.
