Gerry,

I take no offense.

However, I am willing to bet that this question will be asked in one form or another (if not by them, then by you).

The bottom line is that if you meet their minimum requirements and are financially liquid and do not make a fool of yourself at the interview, you will be offered admission.

I do not believe that admission is competitive, as I believe it to be a buyer's market, plain and simple.

Good luck.

amen to this....the eastern europe schools have lots of room! more seats than applicants, i believe. so, getting in is not usually the difficult part. staying in can be tougher...

good luck with the interview!

Miklos & Neilc

Thanks for the info! What you have both said regarding entry seems to be a theme across the forums. From what I can find the Poznan program does not appear to be that bad. It is NOT Hope related and/or NO agents are involved. Since I have been planning this for a couple of years, I'm financially liquid as you put it. Since I'm forty years old and have a ** degree, the six year programs were not attractive to me. I also still have an open application in the Islands.

Bye ........ Gerry

Hi all,

Thanks for all your help in answering my questions about Poznan. I was interviewed and accepted into the four year program this past Friday. I was fortunate to meet a couple of my classmates and can’t wait to go to Europe for the next four years.

Thanks again ........... Gerry

Back from the interview...

Hello, everyone. I am back from my interview at Mercy College last week Friday, and I am happy to say that I've been accepted.

The interview lasted about 45 minutes, and I was interviewed by 6 individuals... all at once. Everyone was very nice and the interview went quite well. The questions they asked were typical: background and education, grades, work history, volunteer history, why I want to be a doctor, topical questions about medicine (eg. I spoke about the human genome project and stem cell research), how I plan to finance my education, whether I'm currently in a long-term relationship, as well as travels and living experiences abroad. They even asked questions like what was the last book I read and what I like to do with my free time. After they asked questions, I had the opportunity to ask questions. I pulled out my list and spent about 15 minutes asking them specific questions about the program. One of my big questions was licensure in California. They were very honest and said that it's in the works, but that these kinds of things take time and that I shouldn't attend KMU if working in CA was an absolute must as there is no guarantee that the approval process will be completed anytime soon..

If anything sticks out on your application, be prepared to talk about it and what steps you've made to overcome any difficiencies. For example, I've been out of school for about 7 years, so it's been some time since I studied chemistry and biology. We talked about that and if I've been doing anything to prepare myself for the Fall semester.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me, and I'll be glad to discuss it with you. Like I said, they will ask you the tough questions, so just be prepared, but relax because they were all quite nice.
