Q to the G part II

You see, I feel I would be very happy in Poland(moreso than in the States).....at least until I graduate(going off of what I have seen/heard). It is that sacrifice which I am trying to weigh at this point. Why did you not try to get into a US school? Did you have the basic sciences and the MCAT behind you? Also, you probably mentioned it on another post, but are you in the 4-year or 6-year track?

Thanks

katowice and warsaw

i am not misleading anyone and i am not an agent..i hated HMI and the amount of money they took but the FACT of the matter is..katowice warsaw and lublin ARE the ONLY programs that offer 2 full years of clinicals in the US..i started out in katowice but as soon as the 4 year program opened up in warsaw i entered there..i am NOT an agent that is why i suggested going carib instead..central europe is not an easy place to get used to..you must learn the language and adapt to a different culture..once again..if there is any problem email me at josephmedman@yahoo.com and if you have nothing nice to say, dont say it at all..take care..

The guy in New York is hardly an agent. I interviewed in New York with the president of the college. And we can do one year in the states. If you are not here in Poznan, please don't comment on Poznan.

ILLEGAL

if you goto the NY dept. of education website you will see that only 2 schools are approved to do extended clerkships in NY state in ALL of europe..that is silisia and lublin..poznan allows you to do 12 weeks of rotation electives in america..please check with the school..i am sure of that..my friend goes there if you need more info you can talk to him..
I spent 3 years in poland..i also interviewed with an indian man there in NY..and he WAS NOT the president..he was def. an agent..as i said, the city is beautiful but the studies are poor..they are not even NY state accredited..i am a physician graduate from warsaw and my ranking is still
1. krakow
2. warsaw
3. silisia
4. wroclaw
5. poznan.

my premed was done in debrecen in case anyone needs info on that..
i say go carib..or DO if the option is available..

I attend school here right now and I am telling you that we can do one year in the US. Yes I know that may be a problem in New York, but I really don't care. What are you talking about "an Indian man". You are saying things that are not true. What is your problem?

This is like argueing over Harvard vs Yale. Who really cares? Did you graduate and do you practice..........great have a nice life.

I'm done with this waste of my time.

nothign

nothing is my problem but i am telling you..i promie..5 years ago when i applied i had an interview in purchase NY with some indian guy who wanted 1500 dollars fee..maybe things changed but thats how it was..can you tell me what hospitals poznan is affiliated with since you can do a year so you claim..the hospitals i rotated at were wycoff hospital in NY, St. Johns hospital in NY, Youngestown Hospital in Ohio..we also have jackson park hospital in chicago, and st. anthony's hospital in chicago..also..st. agnes in Maryland and griffin in connecticut..does yoru school have an official agreement with any hospitals..if nto i knwo for a fact Illinois and New York will not accept the rotations over 12 weeks..if you do more than 12 weeks, Ill. and NY state will not accept non affiliated rotations..they MUST be officially affiliated..
this is why i am telling all that are considering schools other than the caribbean..please do your research harcore..licensing is very picky and a friend of mine from hungary had a law suit brought against him because he exceeded 12 weeks..you can obtain yoru own rotations, but it is very difficult..i do not know any hospitals that allow you to rotate without a school affiliation..if poznan has any clinical affiliations please list them so people can do their own research before attending..any school can claim to allow US rotations..i listed hospitals..please do the same..thank you..

away rotations

OK, there's a fundamental difference at the root of this misunderstanding that hasn't being stated. HMI promises to arrange 2 years of clinicals in the US for you. Poznan allows you to do up to a year of rotations outside of the home school, but you're on your own as far as arranging them is concerned. For everyone's benefit, maybe someone who studied in Poland and has been through the process can comment on how easy/difficult it is to arrange away rotations. Specific feedback from folks who have done the HMI US rotations would be appreciated as well.

i did them

like i said..i completed my rotations..they are very very expensive at 650 a week..away rotations can be arranged with downstate medical university and shreveport LA and some other hospitals BUT a pass on usmle must be achieved..i did not need the pass on the USMLE to start rotations which i kind of regret now..once again..carib or DO is the way to go..

DO school
SGU
ROss
Saba
St. matthews
Polish schools..

my rank order..and i am a grad of poland..class of 2004..
