polish???

i notice that the four year program doesn't have any polish classes...i would ask two questions based on this:

1. isn't polish a pre-requisite for graduation and to be eligible for licensure in poland? be careful here, because if you can't get a license in poland, you may not be able to get a license in some states..

2. how on earth are you going to communicate with patients? are all rotations 100% in the states? no exceptions?

otherwise, looks like a nice site.

good luck!

Smart kid.

Hi, Neil!
As always- you're very smart kid!
I noticed this from all your posts.
Good points!
Noticed a lack of Polish courses also. Will ask them.
Not worried about me- I'm speaking ukrainian (mother tongue), was twice in Poland and communicating almost free.
But about licensure in Poland!!!!
Almost sure that here will be "hidden stone"- course of Polish for additional fee and mandatory, of course...
About rotations.. Look closely: "1500US$ per year for clinical rotations in other centres than Medical University paid 30 days before the commencement of the mentioned rotation".
http://www.umed.lodz.pl/_edi/edi_env....php#adm_crit4
Very strange...
I, actually, VERY interesting to do all or most of rotations in US or England, somewhere- at least in Israel...
And... Nice would be to me to pay a tuition in EURO (because I'm from Israel now- "almost Europe!") Our salaries in SHEKELS!!! And we also suffering from a high euro course! When travelling in Europe.. But must of our life ties to US DOLLARS here (renting appartments, loans, etc.)
Instead of 7000 USD to pay 7800 EURO! DISCRIMINATION!!!
Nothing to do with...
But so far it's a cheapest tuition for 4-year MD program in Poland.
Salute!

...

good...communication is the most important thing. i say this because i know of some people at other 4-year programs that could not get US rotations, even though they were promised. and, it sounds expensive to do the rotations in the US! but, if you speak or can communicate, it will be no problem, i am sure the rotations are decent in poland.

just make sure about the licensure issue. i would bet that there is some agreement that you can get licensed, maybe if you pass some tests in polish. that would prob be enough for the states. but, it is best to make sure that everything is ok wherever you want to go when you finish

good luck

The answer from Lodz.

"In our 4-years program there is latin and medical linguistic in Polish. As far as the the rotations/electives is concerned - it is up to you. You can do them outside Poland or do them in Poland."

Best regards

Z poważaniem
