GPA's, MCAT scores

Hey guys

I'm from NJ looking to apply to some of the Polish schools (preferably Warsaw Poznan or Jag) very soon and I have a few questions for anyone that goes there

Around what GPA and MCAT score is usually seen as competitive? Or did your school not even require the MCAT?

I have around a 3.13 GPA and have yet to take my MCAT (May 10)..but get around 24's right now on my practice tests...do I look good at all?

Also...do any of these school require committee reviews from your undergrad? I hope not, the health professions office at Rutgers is a pain.

By the way, do NJ kids give these schools any love? Where do most of the people come from in the US or is it spread out?

Thanks to anyone who replies

I'm currently a M1 at UJ from North Jersey. I know of several others who hail from NJ but, for the most part, it is fairly geographically diverse with plenty of Canadians and other internationals as well.

I've seen people accepted here with GPAs similar to yours; over 3.0 seems to be the key factor. As for MCAT, the average seems to be a little higher for accepted students. This is why I always stress the importance of submitting the application early.

Regarding letters of recommendation: UJ actually didn't require them in my year of application. This was fortunate as I was several years removed from undergrad and it would have meant major logistical headaches for me to obtain letters. I'm not sure if this is still the case (I recommend checking the website), and I'm not sure about the other Polish programs, as UJ was the only one to which I applied.

Hope that helped a little. Good luck in whatever you plan to do!
