hey to be honest: i have no idea; not there yet. To my understanding the 3rd year cost the same as the 1st and 2nd and the 4th is supposed to be same but actually cheaper because they pay you back or reduce your price because we pay for our clinical outside of poland. But dont quote me on that one. Maybe that has something to do with per semester thing because you spend 4th year mostly out side of poland. Best thing to do is send the NY office you specific questions. sorry about that on this one.

That totally sucks! I think I read somewhere on the website that tuition can only go up 5% a year?
Your telling me haha
the entire student body is in a revolt with the dean about this..
we signed contracts stating such...
however poland is set in its old communist ways.
A contract is only honored if the organization forcing you to sign one if the first place benefits from them. We had to sign all these papers about that especially. Now they are using extortion in order for us to sign a change of contract. ***! Anyway i am sure nothing will come of it. But the way the did this was flat out rude. After all prices are going up all over europe. The profs, students, and admin all hate the way the deans office is just doing whatever.
This school is booked beyond capacity. they have the profs running around like chickens with no where to put there students. its really getting out of hand, they should follow krakows example and just cap it at lets say fourty students. Right now they are letting +80 students in the various programs. They also kickout about 20% of the 6 year, much less so in the 4 year.

"They also kickout about 20% of the 6 year, much less so in the 4 year."
--What do you mean? They rejected 20% of the 6-yr applications or they went berserk and somehow cut 20% from the program?!

well put it this way. the european students in the 6 yr program do well and mostly pass everything without a problem.

You put a bunch of 18 y/o american's that already think they are doctors and have no science or medical background whatsoever. Moreover there is a 24hr liquor store down the street (the BP station) and drugs without much trouble. Then some clubs close around 6-7am. Also there is a night club built into one of the dorms. Did i mention hot polish chicks that want american guys.

Simply put, about twenty percent of the 6yr program fail the majority of there classes and then wonder what went wrong. They were under prepared in HS, and have zero academic discipline. They should have not been here in the first place. The school uses them to make money.

so the school makes money; and builds new buildings: aka the new library and the stomatologuim.

Personally i think it insane for N. american students to come to poland at 18.

Anyway good luck

Haha okay now I get what you were referring to; and I agree about sending 18-year-olds to Poland (or almost any European country for that matter).

The school is trying to implement a 30% tuition increase starting next year. The official number is 41500 pln = roughly 18k usd.

A studio here in a nice building at bear min. will cost u 1100z. my apartment that i share with my gf cost 2300pln a month, its pretty fancy though.

ah and at the market you will spend prob. 200z a week easy, and if you like band name stuff its way more. I have shopped for groceries to fill my place with food with 500z worth. But if you shop right food is the least of your concerns. its still cheap polish people have to eat and they dont make squat.

Doctors start out at 1400z a month for example.

Worst thing, electronics are 2x as expensive as they are in the states easy. Example, i mac mouse cost about 40 usd when i looked last time it was like the eq of 80 usd here.

travel: warsaw or berlin from poznan 120z or 40 euro respectively.

The Z's keep getting stronger too. When we came here 1 dollar was 3.2 z now less then 2.10z so you do the math.

Cars still come pretty cheap some used car my friends bought was 3000z not so bad. I would get one from germany though.

Getting back to the food part. Roughly...

Between the two of us: we make food here mostly because service sucks balls in poland, and the food we make is tasty!

We spend 150z every 2-3 days. So lets just say 300z a week on groceries. 52 wks = 15600z a year on food. x.44 =about 7000 usd on food a year. wowo thats actually a lot, i am no fat *** either ha.

hmm...
ok Donatello's: best thing buy school and prob. one of the better places in town, with a couple of beers a nice tasty meal is like 35-40 z

other places a little more fancy around 50 mostly

sushi 100+ depending on how much you love sushi. On average 8 plates off the river is going to run you about 120z

Kebab or any bistro stuff under 10z

milk bars under 8 z meals. and its going to make you sic. haha maybe.

haha there is a river at the sushi bar; and you take plates of these boats. It was supposed to be a joke.

Ah taxes are included straight off, so you dont see them.
And tips, people dont tip in poland, but most of us do. It doesnt help though service still sux even if you give them 50z regular.
