Hi guys,

The answer: it doesn't happen. US medical schools typically only allow transfers from LCME-accredited schools. Even then, they will only allow a transfer should a place in their class opens up.

I've heard of several people who were able to transfer from Caribbean schools to US schools, but even that is very much the exception and not the rule.

I've done some research, and looks like you right, unfortunately 'cause 4 years in Poland looks like off a lot to me...

Hello Every One.

I Am Planning On Transferring To A School In Poland( Gdansk) For My Clinical Rotations, I Dont Speak Any Polish. What Are My Chances, Do I Need To Speak Polish To Do Clinical There. At The Hospitals , Do The Doctors Speak English . Is There Some One To Translate. For You. Or Lastly, Can I Even Ask To Them For Clinical Rotation In England.

Any Info , Would Be Helpfull

I was speaking to an AUC rep. so long as you pass your step, AUC takes students from poland no problem. Kinda of a nice option actually... do your 3rd year cores in the states. Of course transfers never look very nice i guess.

As for polish doctors i would say the majority speak english better then average; a few even had american accents that i have encountered. Thats in Poznan though not in Danzig, Krakow teachers from my limited time with them also spoke very well. thats not always the case in your cores in the first 2 years though.

in your rotations you are actually pseudoexpected to speak polish, but chances are 2/5 of the students speak polish anyway, so its no problem for non speakers, maybe later it matters more, i guess you would get more out of it. But plenty of people come through without polish.
