i forgot if i talked to Poznan or Warsaw on phone. But one of them said that the application process for calif is so painful that they all are getting tired of it. She was kinda hinting that they wouldn't apply again if application doesnt go through.

What does this mean for its approval in the other states. I want to know specifically if Jagiellonian and Poznan are approved in NY and NJ. NJ State Medical Board seems to approve all WHO or IMED listed schools (I was trying to read the legislature). What about NY? I got an email from a representative from the NYS Dept. of Education with a very short list of foreign schools whose curriculum "have been approved by the New York State Education Department to allow students to complete more than 12 weeks of clinical clerkships in New York State. Medical education received at this school would fulfill our professional education requirement for licensure."
Poznan and Jagiellonian are not on the list. In fact, the POlish universities on the list are Lublin and Silesia. never heard of them untill now. How does NYS approval work? What happens if all rotations are done in the Poland, or any other country for that matter? Until now, the game plan was supposed to be to do rotations in NYS to get LORs. LORs lead to a residency. But if all these other schools are not allowed to do the necessary 12 weeks of rotations... ...I am thoroughly confused. Schools like Charles University in the Czech Republic and Semmelweis in Hungary are CA approved. They don't appear to have the go ahead in NY. |
