Post Lodz Medical School

Hay all just finished doing a very long research on Lodz medical school and i figured it it is a very good school, very reputable in Poland and is offering at least 7 green book hospitals in USA.
Also one more thing i figured out was that their is alot of people on this website that talk ish and to tell you the truth i think Lodz medical school is a very good school, very soon applying for NY approval and having their graduates apply for residency in a year or so. it has loan programs, approved by WHO and has shelf exams

One down side is that it doesnt have a fifth semester KAPLAN review course but they give you two summers off, and you go home or do research at their school (GENEtics research also and study for USMLE your self saving your self couple of thousands of $$$$.) and review for the USMLE.

USMLE is not a big deal and as i was talking to the admission counselar of the school she told me when you get your admission paper just start studying for it, she said they have good professors, labs, cadavars for every 2-3 student and extensive research oppurtunity.
I my self want to start a BioTech company after medical school so this is perfect for me.

anyways just to tell you all , if you doubt it and think caribaen is not for you then you have Lodz, soon to have (NY approvals and FL also in less then 2 years).

cheers

What I always find fascinating is that it is premeds that talk up schools they have yet to attend. The old adage of the newly converted being the most fanatical seems to hold.

The USMLE is a big deal for IMGs. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.

The reason for this is very simple. In order to get interviews for residency positions, IMG applicants need to get past the ERAS software filters created by program directors.

Whether one's application receives a second look or not very often comes down to simply one (Step 1) or two numbers (Step 2 CK).

Ask others on this forum who, you know, have actually taken it and have scored residencies about the effort they put into the exam, etc...

Re: Lodz. If this is the school for you, fantastic and the best of luck to you.

For others, there are two things I'd like to point out.

1) Until the day a school is actually approved by a state, promises of approval by agents mean zilch, nada, nothing.

2) The program is relatively new. No grads in residency, plenty of bugs to be worked out, etc... Should one decide to attend, one needs to be very cognizant of this risk and the possibility that the program might fail.

Exclamation

unfotunately i got to agree with u

but i went to Lodz. had my interview there. got accepted on the spot... they were very keen on me - as a transfer student i expected there to be lots of ummms and aahhhs and well strict regulations. but non as such
having said that i did exceed requirements

the buildings seem ok
professors seem nice
city is a nightmare...
transport is rubbish

so.. if ur used to western standards of living .dont go there. trust me.
All in all average school and alot of promises(which could remain promises for a long time)

regards
