so could you guys from Poznan let us know how is life in there? how much free times you guys have, what do you do on weekends. Do you hang out all together, go to bars, siteseeing, anywhere together etc... How about group study, do you tend to study alone or together, do you have any weekly group study sessions? Do you prepare for the USMLE step 1 together in any way?

honestly i really like it here, but it all varies. first of all if you're polish or at least part polish than you will have a better time in my opinion. on the weekends most of us go out partying to clubs, most of the time together in large groups. not much sightseeing, although this all saints holiday break (5 days) a lot of ppl are going different places around europe and poland. other than that life is just as anywhere else, you have friends, hang out, do all the everyday things you would do at home - the difference being your money translates into about triple buying power so you have more options. i must've said this ten times now, but polish girls are awesome!

the amount of free time really depends on you. nobody is here to tell you what to do. there is a lot of material to study, i know ppl that study A LOT and others that study only b4 exams. ppl here dont generally study in big groups, from ive noticed. no weekly group sessions, at least not in our class. there's always talk about arranging something but nobody does anythign about it. im a first year and nobody is really thinking about the usmle yet. i mean they are but not in a sense of studying for it, our worries at this moment consist of the next histo exam, catching up on anatomy b4 its too late, starting off a good foot in embryo that we just started, and the november series of exams and NBMEs thats looming.

but for now, its the all saints week. Rome here i come!

hope this sheds some light.

Hey, I would suggest that you start studying for the USMLE in the first year. My lowest areas on Step 1 were from the first year classes. We did not really have the shelf exams for all of first year and it showed on my Step.

The Deptartment Finals are harder I agree, but mean little on the USMLE. Also prior finals can be found floating around. Worry more about the NBME's, but they are not exactly like the USMLE, but sort of like it.

We just took the OB/GYN NBME yesterday and that is much different than Step 1. Every question was a short story. One of the questions covered the whole page, with story and graphs. So I am studying for Step 2 now, as we go through the classes.

Seb,
If you don't mind me asking, why would you like to transfer to Poznan? Is there something wrong with Warsaw?

Hi everyone,
I have contacted the New York office and they told me that the first interviews are on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of December. Good luck to those of you who are applying.

hey everyone,
My interview is on the 11th! Anyone else has something already scheduled? Where are all of the PUMS students? Also, I'm working on some of the interview questions right now, and I'll be posting them soon.
