hey guys, me and a few others are currently first and 3rd year students cruse on this website. (mainly when i am sick of studying.) If you have any particular questions. Feel free; also, i am the student government rep. for the class of 2010 and manage the ASG website, and ASG login in issues. So when it comes time you can contact me through this website, or the ASG website and i will do my best to help.
Concerning your applications here. This school may not be for everyone; i would have to say, that the teachers are very knowledgeable; our TA's are specialists in there field often with 30+ years of experience. The language skills some times are not up to snuff. Having said that, barring the 35% asian population i would say some 50% of our class are Polish something or other, and the majority of us speak polish; for us this school is quite accommodating. I must say the other Europeans that are here as well get along just fine, and the english guys (norwegains as well) seem to have quite a nice time with the ladies here. The rather undiscovered commodity of poland. haha. The point i am getting at, is that there are several disgruntled people in my class per se "americans" that think poland is messed up, and the school sucks. To each his own. These people never even stepped a foot into poland and some not into europe before arriving here. So out of the pan and into the fire. There is the good and the bad: in poznan, in poland, and as well at PUM. But if you are polish, european, or just a tolerant person from anywhere, you will have a nice time here. All the 3rd years i know, passed the first USMLE step; according to them everyone who took the exam passed as well between 80-89 score first timers. For european bound people following all graduating class of 2008 and beyond PUM's and all universities of the EU are accepted in the EU without further examination, PLAB or whatever. But before you come here for real, visit, stay a while. Experience PUM, people say it over and over, but just jumping into cold water is just idiotic, you will end up like some of the ragging idiots on the ASG website, un happy with themselves no matter where they are. (although some of them are already MD's) Well like i said feel free to send any questions. ciao- chex- by the way, i like it here, school is working my *** over, friday nights are explosive, the girls are hot, and life is cheap. oh yeah, couple more things.
first, (4 year'ers) get ready to bust your ***, they don't kid around, your first histo quiz comes in 2 weeks and is 150 pages with of Junqueria, the lange review is great for this. (and for everything it seems.) next- six year apps- you are in- don't sweat the interview or app. They will teach you everything you need to know about medicine. And you will be an alcoholic with cirrhosis by the time you are 24. haha. no i am not joking. haha. night life is crazy and you guys won't be very busy the first couple of years. ( well its still med school)(you will also learn the meaning of pregaming.) Ah yes NY office, the biggest god damn sore on everyones ***. You will learn to hate those people, but kiss there *** at the interview. haha. They really do suck, no replies, no refunds (for a while) just really dogie. Pay them as little as possible at all times, never pay anything without receipts, and don't rely on there information. Come to the ASG for your info we will tell you what you need to know! ![]() Last edited by chexpool; 10-21-2006 at 06:31 AM. |
